Lyla Alexander

Lyla as a child

Lyla Shana Alexander is a character used by Lowri in the future of World 11: Villains. She will be the youngest daughter and fourth child of Hannah Hester and Damien Alexander. She will possess the abilities of Autometabokinesis, Enhanced Synaesthesia, Diamond Tears and Anthokinesis.

Appearance

Lyla as an adult

Lyla will inherit her mother's blonde hair and her father's light blue eyes. Her hair will be curly, but is unknown where she inherited this texture from. Her skin tone will be pale throughout her life. She will be curvaceous and of medium build, and she will stand at 5'11 in height when fully grown. Her taste in clothing will occasionally be eccentric.

Abilities

Emerging from a mimicked death state

Lyla's first ability will be Autometabokinesis. This ability will enable her to manipulate her own metabolism. She will be able to do so in seconds, with just a thought. Its possible uses will include removing various drugs from her body, increasing her energy reserves and slowing down her metabolism to the extent that she mimics a death state.

Drawing people in with music

Her second ability will be Enhanced Synaesthesia. Lyla will be able to use music to affect the emotions and behaviour of others. She will normally access her ability through singing, but she will also be able to use musical instruments and even pre-existing music. Using pre-existing music, however, will cause a weaker effect than using her own music. She will be able to summon others and project her own emotions into people, getting them to mimic her and do her bidding. If she was extremely angry or hurt, over-exposure to her music could harm people. Another use of her ability will be showing music to people in different ways, such as glowing lights and physical sensations.

Crying diamond tears

Her third ability with be Diamond Tears. This ability will be consciously controlled. When Lyla chooses to do so, she could cause her tears to dry and solidify to form diamonds. Otherwise, her tears will just be as normal. The ability won't be able to form diamonds in any other way, and it couldn't create any other stone.

Manipulating a flower

 

Her fourth and final ability will be Anthokinesis. This ability will enable her to manipulate flowers, but not other parts of plants or any non-flowering species. Examples of its use could include making flowers bloom and wilt, increasing and decreasing pollen production, changing aspects of flower's appearance such as size or colour, and even changing one kind of flower into another. The ability could also be used to create flowers and petals, but not complete plants.

Etymology

Lyla is a Persian name meaning "dark-haired beauty", which has little relevance for her given the fact that she will be blonde. Her middle name will be chosen after her paternal aunt. Shana can be considered a variant of Shannon, which is a Gaelic name meaning "small and wise", a derivative of the Hebrew name Shosanna meaning "lily" or "rose", or a variant of the Yiddish name Shaina meaning "beautiful". The second meaning could be a reference to her ability of anthokinesis. Her surname, Alexander, is more commonly seen as a first name, and is a Greek name which means "defending men.
